Cynicism - to make insistently negative estimates without sufficient evidence.
Naive Optimism - to make insistently positive estimates without sufficient evidence. Both are illogical positions. Both are the making up of the mind (prejudice) on a matter before encountering it. With cynicism, possibilities are not even considered. With naive optimism, disapointment usually follows. With both, things are not seen as they should be seen. |
