pretty much the same here so it's nice to finally see the sun haha. watching this remotely new series called "Boardwalk Empire" right now, have you seen it? Martin Scorscese directed the first episode and is also an exec of the show and i think the makers of "Sopranos" is behind it too. great watch
pretty damn sweet actually, the sun is shining and today and yesterday was the first day of the year i could leave the winter jacket at home. it's been a long winter tho, real long. same for you over there too?
is the correct word for something that turned digital, "digitize(d)" or "digitalized"? i always thought it was digitalized except RZA used digitized on his album so i was thinking it was some Bobby D slang lol.
also if you noticed i deleted Ol' Dirty from the "North Star" credits, that's been a huge debate lately but i never heard ODB's voice on there and even Popa Wu himself said on Facebook that it was him soley that sung on the record. either way since Popa Wu is the only one credited and it's been a debate i think it's better to just leave that out completely. agree?
very true, they are of course among the most important musical nations of all times. but their language doesn't really translate to well into vocal music from an outsiders perspective. i really think that is a beautiful song too, is that on the list?
i actually liked the song with Xavier Naidoo and Deborah Cox from the same album even more. RZA is great at producing soul/R&B too, it would have been interesting to hear that Tekitha album they worked on in the '90s. come to think about it i think i will put together a "The Soul Of RZA" compilation for my blog with his R&B/soul productions (i already did two with Dilla and one for DJ Premier).
btw i was just seeing this thread on "World According to RZA" and it struck me that we maybe didn't include anything from there? personally i think either "Saian" or "Seul Face A Lui" or whatever it's called had the greatest impact, on me at least.
it's looking good, that's some nice changes, thx. i wasn't feeling too inspired that day tbh but i think looking at that thread now it is really starting to come together. it will be a lot of fun to see how it will be received once we complete it!
saw you been doing quite a bit of work lately, nice to see. professional looking reviews too, i especially enjoyed your "Alphabets" review to name one - keep it up!
i've been busy with a project on record collection from a music sociologic perspective that's been quite interesting and then working on my blog on nights but i've got a few days off now so will write some reviews tomorrow.
btw, what you think about the new Killarmy single? peace
